IT VAR/MSP Sales Executive

Job Description:
In a consultative role, your objective will be to generate revenue and gross profit from selling IT products and services for data centers, networks, security and collaboration to small, mid-market and enterprise level customers in the commercial, SLED and federal markets.
As a Sales Executive, you will be responsible for:
  • Selling a blend of IT solutions to customer needs (servers, storage, networking, security, software licensing and software solutions, and professional & managed services)
  • Building an in-depth knowledge of your client’s business and IT priorities, challenges and initiatives, while mining and developing new opportunities across the company
  • Meeting or exceeding monthly and annual sales and gross profit forecasts and quotas
  • Managing the entire sales cycle for each of your clients, from prospecting, quote/proposal generation, price negotiation to fulfilling the product, services and contract requirements
  • Creating a strategic and named account plan for selling to new and existing customers (top 20-40 named accounts, markets/industries, etc.)
  • Maintaining high activity standards including independently prospecting for clients, conducting sales calls/meetings/demos, and delivering quotes/proposals on a weekly basis
  • Generating new accounts, managing existing accounts and maintaining successful long-term relationships with key decision makers up to the “C” level
  • Managing your account portfolio and Sales Funnel of short, medium and long term opportunities
  • Documenting and managing results of won, lost and pending business
  • Collaborating and proactive account planning with vendors and partner companies

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Consultative outside direct sales experience in an IT Solutions Provider, Integrator, Value Added Reseller or Managed/Professional Service Provider
  • Established business network, proven client/prospect list that can turn into sales, and ability to bring a book of business
  • Proven track record of achieving monthly and annual sales and gross profit forecasts and quotas
  • Proven experience in prospecting (using LinkedIn, contact databases and traditional methods), qualifying, and closing competitive accounts
  • Extensive knowledge of IT hardware and software products from major OEMs and new/emerging technologies for either data centers, networks, security or collaboration or all
  • Excellent understanding of the technology’s value to a customer’s business needs and goals
  • Experience with selling professional and managed services
  • Ability to clearly demonstrate and articulate the value proposition of a solution, technically and financially (ROI, TCO, etc.)
  • Strong value-added solution selling, organizational and communications skills, and aggressive prospecting, cold calling, negotiating and closing skills
  • Self-starter with personal accountability for your results, strong work ethic and motivation to achieve short, medium and long term goals
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
